Respected professional in the civil engineering and construction industry with over 25 years’ combined experience, starting from site-based positions and progressing through to senior management .
Derek has an exceptional technical and commercial record in project delivery and thrives in developing and managing high-performing teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects across Australia .
Since forming Quickway in 2006, he has been passionate about navigating its consistent growth and vision within the industry. He is equally comfortable on site or in the boardroom.
Responsibilities include the executive control of all business operations, with ultimate accountability for the delivery of the contract to the client. This involves close liaison with the client from tender stage to project completion, whilst simultaneously coordinating all Quickway employees and subcontractors.
Has been responsible for overseeing the introduction and implementation of various policies, procedures and management systems which has allowed for Quickway to obtain certification for:
- AS/NZS 4801-2001 (OH&S), ISO 9001-2008 (Quality), and ISO 14001-2004 (Environmental)
- Department of Transport – Roads and Maritime Services: Certificate of Prequalification (R2, B3, F20)
- Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner: Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme
- Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) through Transport for NSW
David joined Quickway in June 2013 and has over 20 years’ of experience in the scaffolding, construction and maintenance sectors.
David is currently the CFO & Director of Quickway. Prior to this, David held Financial Controller roles at Harsco Infrastructure (now Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services), UGL and GCS.
David is a professionally qualified Accountant and is a member of the CPA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University.
Peter is a Director of Quickway with responsibility for Business Vision, Strategy, Culture and Market Position. He has held Executive Management positions within Transfield Services (now Broadspectrum), GHD Pty Ltd, Serco Asia Pacific and UGL and formerly held Public Sector roles with NSW Sydney Trains.
Peter specialises in outsourced services and has deep experience in private and Government funded infrastructure across the full spectrum of contracting methodologies, encompassing Alliancing, Managing Contractor methodologies and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). He has applied his asset and systems, project development and management expertise in the transportation, mining, defence, utilities, property and infrastructure sectors both locally and internationally. A strategic thinker, he has contributed to the national debate regarding the utilisation of commercial models including Public Private Partnerships for financing and innovative delivery of infrastructure.
Peter Wilkinson is also the Founding Director of SamWilko Advisory, offering specialist leadership and coaching services to businesses in transportation, engineering and construction, industrials and professional services. He brings more than 30 years’ experience in enabling entrepreneurs, business leaders and senior executives to transform capability in bid management, project development and business execution. He specialises in implementing smart, effective and innovative business strategies to transform revenue, manage precious management time and improve ROI.
