In May 2020 Quickway commenced work on the Campsie to Canterbury STS, 33kV Bulk Power Supply Feeder project. This project is expected to go on until late November 2020 with the scope of works including 2.4km of trench excavation, conduit install and backfill, the construction of 4 large scale joint bays and a cable bridge structure to cross the Sydney Water canal at Canterbury Zone STS substation.
In total, Quickway will be installing 10km of 33kV 3core 400mm2 cable along with 5km of fibre optic cable. The scope includes high voltage cable jointing works and high voltage cable testing prior to hand over and completion of the project.
This package of work forms part of the Sydney Metro project, which is Australia’s largest public transport project and it follows on from our recent completion of works on Sydney Metro Northwest Rapid Transit project last year.
From the north-west of Sydney, the metro rail is being extended under Sydney Harbour, through new underground city stations and beyond to the south-west of Sydney. In 2024, Sydney will have 31 metro railway stations and a 66km standalone metro railway system, revolutionising the way Australia’s biggest city travels.
