FeaturedImage

In June, the Quickway team completed works on the steel transom topped underbridge at Wellington, located between Orange junction and Dubbo. The scope of works prior to the dismantle and construction included site set up safety measures and controlling water at the site as it was a live creek.

In the possession, the works were to remove existing guard rail, railway line and dismantle of all the bridge elements without damaging the components. The bridge removal work also included the removal of concrete piers and earthworks in preparation for the construction of the new box culvert underbridge. The new box culvert underbridge was constructed in accordance with requirements and all stabilisation and remediation work completed without issue. Once the culverts were installed the existing track was re-laid on new sleepers, welded together, and tamped back to level and alignment. Apron slabs and rock rip rap were completed post possession with fence lines and site remediated completing a challenging but successful project.
All works were completed within the time frame specified during the possession with both the client and local landowners very pleased with the works carried out.
