Project Update – Macquarie Park Stage 2 (Package 1A)
The Team at Macquarie Park Stage 2 (Package 1A) have achieved a key milestone on the project.
The month of October 2024 has seen the completion of all planned asphalt on the project (with 5,000 tonnes of new asphalt laid to date), enabling the installation of the new line marking, and opening up the roadway to its final ultimate configuration.
This final ultimate configuration provides the following upgrades to the Waterloo Road / Lane Cove Road intersection:
- Introduced a new 160m long bus lane on Waterloo Road in the eastbound direction on the lead up to Lane Cove Road intersection;
- Upgraded the 70m long bus lane on Waterloo Road in the westbound direction;
- Introduced a new westbound lane on Waterloo Road on the lead up to Lane Cove Road intersection;
- Upgraded 350Lm of shared bike path;
- Constructed a new raised concrete stepped median;
- Relocated and connected multiple underground utility infrastructure, including Water, Electricity, Street Lighting, Gas, Telecommunications and stormwater; and
- Upgraded the Traffic Signals on Waterloo Road and Lane Cove Road intersection
The project is nearing completion, with works continuing on site for the final granite paving, landscaping, fencing and property adjustment works.
