Canberra Metro Launch

Quickway are proud to have worked on Canberra’s biggest infrastructure project to date, which carried it’s first passengers today!

Having been involved since 2016 in a multi-disciplinary capacity, we want to thank all of our hardworking people, who have helped to connect the communities of Canberra.
Our teams delivered structural concrete works, installed electrical infrastructure, installed key power and telecommunications and rail works along the new track for this iconic project.

The Big Meet

Quickway exhibited our undergraduate and graduate programs at The Big Meet. The event was held at the International Convention Centre Sydney, Darling Harbour with over 100 exhibitors and hundreds of undergraduates and recent graduates from all universities in the Sydney metropolitan region.

Our Senior Project Managers Jacobus Botha (Utilities Infrastructure) and Ian Wright (Transport Infrastructure) were there to answer any questions and do some networking with some potential future additions to our team!

Safety Employee of the Quarter

Congratulations to Alex Cooper, who was presented with the Safety Employee of the Quarter award today at our Safety Awareness Forum for his handling of a challenging situation onsite.
A fellow worker started suffering sudden chest pains at work and collapsed. Thanks to Alex’s quick thinking and prompt action, the worker was taken to hospital and made a full recovery.
Alex checked his breathing and talked his colleague through the episode.
His commitment to the wellbeing of his co-workers demonstrates his dedication to site safety in an unpredictable work environment.

Safety Awareness Forum

Quickway marked the start of National Safe Work Month today with our very first Safety Awareness Forum at the ANZ Stadium.
We had presentations from members of our own team as well as key guest speakers – Paul Monaro discussed prevention and management of soft-tissue injury, Simonette Vaja spoke on mental health matters, and Dallas Adams blew us all away with his raw and tragic personal account on ‘Why Safety Matters’. The impact that an accident in the workplace can have is unimaginable and Dallas uses his own loss to reinforce the important message that : ‘A moment is all it takes’.

R U OK? Day

Quickway are acknowledging ‘R U OK Day’ with toolbox talks across all sites today and have put the ‘R U OK?’ message on all computers.
We encourage people to start a dialogue with anyone you think is struggling. Our vision is a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide.
‘Every Day is R U OK? Day’.
Sometimes conversations are too big for friends, family or colleagues, and this is where professional support is needed. Don’t hesitate to use our free Employee Assistance Programme for help when needed.

Quickway wins Ausgrid Safety Award

Quickway’s commitment to safety was recognised tonight at Ausgrid’s Strategic Partner Summit where we were granted the Ausgrid Safety Award.

This was one of just four awards (Safety, Edge, Innovation and Strategic Partner of the Year) given out amongst the 50 major contractors that were invited to attend.

The Summit concentrated on relationship-building and was delivered through positive interaction between the partners.

Congratulations to Quickway’s Cathal Caldwell, who received the award for his forward thinking, his ability to use initiative, and his consistent dedication to workplace safety.

This win recognises and confirms our capability, competency, and commitment to safety in our systems and operations within the Electrical field.

Safety Employee of the Quarter

This quarters Safety Employee award goes to Cathal Caldwell of our Electrical division, for the second time in a year.

Cathal was commended by a TfNSW representative for using his initiative onsite by extending the locations of his traffic controllers past the designated worksite, thus preventing a bottle neck between work zones.
This shows forward thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and consideration for the safety of his co-workers and the community. His strong focus on safety, and ability to use initiative is testament to his dedication to site safety in a changing work environment.

Congratulations to Cathal.

Cathal currently works on our Ausgrid Cable Laying Project Works – Sydney Southern Region contract, where he excels in managing a variety of complex tasks to a high standard and coordinating his crew, whilst maintaining meticulous attention to all aspects of workplace health and safety. In his many years with Quickway, Cathal has always exhibited a strong work ethic and the quality of workmanship his crew presents is outstanding.
The restoration work completed as part of Burwood Zone Development was done so with zero punch-list items, meaning no public complaints and satisfying all stakeholders requirements.

FSC Accreditation

Quickway are pleased to announce that, having met the requirements of the Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme, we have been awarded accreditation from the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner.

Quickway are one of a small number of companies nationwide who have obtained this accreditation, and one of a select few within our specific area of service to do so. This achievement provides Quickway with the opportunity to tender for and work directly as the head contractor on projects that are funded by the Australian Government, both state and national. Only head contractors who are accredited under the Scheme can enter into contracts of a value greater than $4M.

This accreditation enables the company to move into the next level of contracting, and we look forward to partnering with various Australian Government agencies and the continuing growth and success of our business as a result. This is one of the many recent examples of our great teamwork involving staff from various levels within our organisation working together, making large challenges achievable.
