Project Win – Greens Bridge Replacement
Quickway have been engaged by Lismore City Council to undertake bridge replacement works for Greens Bridge, located on Stony Chute Road over Goolmangar Creek in Northern NSW approx. 2km south-west of Nimbin.
The bridge replacement works involve the construction of a new bridge parallel to the existing bridge, the construction of new approaches with improved alignment tying into the replacement bridge. The existing Greens bridge will be removed, and the area rehabilitated. These bridge replacement works form part of the NSW Government Fixing Country Bridges.
The scope of works to be delivered under this program is to demolish the current timber structure and replace it with a reinforced concrete structure. The bridge will have a span of 38 metres.
This contract supports employment opportunities for the local community, with our site management team based in the Northern Rivers, and the utilisation of local plant hire companies, local concrete and gravel suppliers, and local formwork and concrete subcontractors. As the project draws closer to completion, the asphalt and seal of the road will also be carried out by companies from the area.
