Project Update – WestConnex

Transurban recently caught up with some of the Quickway team to discuss our involvement on the WestConnex project in Sydney. As a company based in Western Sydney we have been employing local people on the project since 2016.
The works Quickway have carried out on the project to date include the widening of the M4, which involved the construction of numerous retaining walls, forming and placement of concrete pavement, noise wall works and the widening of the creek beneath the new viaduct.
In the tunnels between St. Peters and Kingsgrove our team delivered the concrete pavement, longitudinal egress passages, cross passages and tunnel ventilation structures, while on the M4-M5 our team completed works to the new site compound, concrete access ramps to the tunnel and capping beams to the new portal entrance.
The areas in which Quickway have most recently constructed concrete infrastructure was on the M5 and the M4-M5 sections of WestConnex, where works included the cut and cover, piled concrete pavement, pumping stations, retaining walls, capping beams and bridge abutment works at St Peters Interchange.
