Project Overview
Hornsby Maintenance Centre works were carried out to improve network safety and reduce the need for ongoing maintenance in the Centre. Abergeldie and Quickway worked together to deliver the improvement works.
Project Description
Hornsby Maintenance Centre consisted of installing approximately 1200m of track through roads 4 to 7 using edilon sedra’s embedded rail system.
Together Quickway and Abergeldie sandblasted and primed over 20 legs of rail at Chullora. Under possession, the rail was then lifted onto a rail set using multiple cranes and transported to Hornsby.
We cleaned and primed the rail channels cast into the concrete floor. Once primed, we surveyed, adjusted height and gauge to design, and poured the edilon sedra compound into the channels.
Welding was completed while rail was raised above the channels using timber blocks and wedges.
