Projects

Sydney Trains – MPM (Major Periodical Maintenance)

Project Overview

Quickway and Sydney Trains worked together to successfully deliver numerous projects across the Sydney trains metropolitan network. These projects have ranged from expansion switch installation, to rerailing, to closure installation and turnout refurbishments.

Project Description

Expansion Switch (Sydney Harbour Bridge) – Project scope was to install 2 x expansions switches and 4 x rail closures on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The safety critical project had many difficulties as we were working adjacent to a live road and above pedestrians at Milsons Point and Circular Quay. Many controls were put into place which resulted in a safely delivered project.

Rerailing (Allawah to Hurstville) – Project scope was to install 6 x 110m rail legs, 2 x GIJ’s and 2 x rail closures over a transom bridge between Allawah and Hurstville stations. This project was planned and delivered within 1 week as it was an emergency high priority defects scope for Sydney Trains. Even with the short time frame all scope was delivered successfully.

Quickway were also responsible for the provision of Traffic Management on the project. All plans were developed, RMS licencing obtained and onsite execution of Traffic Control provided.
