Projects

WSA DN750 Trunk Mains

Project Overview:

Quickway have been undertaking works as part of the Sydney Water Partnering for Success Program (P4S). The program is Sydney Water’s Regionalised approach to delivering capital work projects.

Project Description:

Our scope included the construction of a 1.2km DN 750 SCL pipeline as part of the Sydney Water P4S Program on behalf of West Region Delivery Team (WRDT). The works involved the installation of the SCL pressure main along with the construction of numerous complex valve assemblies and tie-ins to DN 1000 HDPE pipelines which were constructed using HDD methodology. The works also included 100m of DN 450 DICL main and a road crossing across Elizabeth Drive using open trench excavation methodology. The project was delivered and handed over to our client on time with zero leak/defects during the hydrotesting of the work. The project is part of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis Growth Area.

Key Challenges:

Project delivery team had to content with a narrow construction corridor and significant periods of inclement weather but were able to achieve program despite these challenges. Weather issues created significant ground water at various times during the construction period. Given the ground conditions, our team were required to utilise adequate environmental controls to ensure that mud was not tracking onto public roads.
